Otto Wellner of Charter Oak was laid to rest here Sunday afternoon, September 5, in St. Clair Cemetery, following funeral services held at the Lutheran Church in Charter Oak. Mr. Wellner passed away Friday, September 3, at the University Hospital at Iowa City where he had been a patient for about three months.

Otto Henry Wellner was born October 10, 1877, in Germany. He came to the United States in 1891, settling first in Carroll County. He later came to this country, living on a farm southwest of Ute for many years before moving to a farm near Charter Oak.

Mrs. Wellner died in April 1917.

There are six children surviving, Mrs. Hans Miller of Danbury; Mrs. Augusta Soper, Louie Wellner and Mrs. Fred Timm, all of Charter Oak; Mrs. Rosie Preuhs of Ricketts and Mrs. Bertha Gutch of Litterdale. Mr. Wellner is also survived by two brothers, John of Ute and Herman of Charter Oak; and one sister, Mrs. Matt Gleusen of Eugene, Oragon.
