M. JoAnn (Phipps) Orsini, 75, of Onawa, was granted her angel wings Sunday, May 27, 2018. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that JoAnn had touched in some small way throughout her very memorable life.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, with Evangelist Dale Wolf officiating. The family requests casual attire for all those in attendance. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mable JoAnn was born on Aug. 3, 1942, in rural Onawa, the daughter of Harold and Ruby D. (Brink) Phipps. She grew up in rural Blencoe, Iowa. She attended the Blencoe School and graduated in 1960.

JoAnn and Charles Orsini were united in marriage on March 3, 1962, in Omaha. She worked as a bank teller in Omaha after graduation. She worked as a bank employee for the 13 years that they lived in Maryland.

She loved reading books and often would read one a day. The thing she enjoyed the most was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Charles Orsini of Onawa; daughter, Kym Hogan-Harris (Craig Harris) of Onawa; son, Keith Orsini of Sergeant Bluff; grandson, Nick Hogan (Evy Lange) of Sioux City; granddaughter, Hailey Hogan of Bozeman, Mont.; grandson, Alexander Harris of Sergeant Bluff; grandson, Treyton Harris of Onawa; siblings, H. Lee (Margaret) Phipps of Little Sioux, Iowa, Donald (Denise) Phipps of Blencoe, Larry (Pat) Phipps of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Linda (David) Urban of Sioux City, and Lori (Raymond) Mousel of Onawa; and sisters-in-law, Candice Phipps of Onawa, Grace Tomasetti of Burlington, N.J., and Dolores (Daniel) Fortenberry of Fort Worth, Texas.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruby Phipps; her in-laws Cipriano and Mary Orsini; step mother-in-law, Josephine; brother, Clarence Phipps of Onawa; brothers-in-law, Henry Tomasetti of Burlington, and Edward Casperiates of Fort Worth.
