Mapleton, Iowa—Buel C. McAlexander, 45, of Mapleton and formerly of Pratt, Kansas, died Thursday in an Onawa Hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pratt. The Rev. Ted Skalsky will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery at Pratt. Walter Funeral Home in Mapleton is in charge of transporting the body to Kansas.

Mr. McAlexander was born October 15, 1940, in Huntington Beach, California. He married Kathleen Menard on October 16, 1965, in Oxnard and they lived in California and in Pratt. He served in the U.S. Navy until retiring in 1979. The couple recently moved to an acreage near Mapleton.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Daniel, a daughter, Julie and his mother, Eva Brant, all of Pratt; two brothers, Boyd Brant of Pratt and Charles J. Brant of Austin, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Jetta L. Wright and Mrs. Mary E. Bernard, both of Pratt, Mrs. Shirley McKinney in Illinois and Louise Henyan of Azuza, California.
