Vivien L. Knutson, 93, of Soldier, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 6, 2018, at the Dunlap Specialty Care Center in Dunlap, Iowa.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 11:30 A.M. in the Soldier Lutheran Cemetery near Soldier. Pastor Shari Schwedhelm will be officiating. Pall bearers are Harold Haines, Chad Gorham, William D. Knutson Jr, Aaron Boysen and Jim Longlee. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Vivien Leone was born on January 3, 1925, in Ute, Iowa, to Chris E. and Leona (Lee) Knutson. She graduated from Soldier High School in 1942. She then earned a secretarial degree from Commercial Extension Business College in Omaha, Nebraska.

She worked for Leader Construction in Omaha before moving to Denver, Colorado. While in Denver, she worked for the engineering firm Sterns-Rogers Corporation until her retirement. Vivien moved back to Soldier in August of 2011.

Vivien is survived by sisters-in-law, Judy Knutson and Agnes Knutson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Chris E. and Leona (Lee) Knutson; sisters Marcedus Jenkinson and Lucille Gorham; brothers Vernon, Clayton, Harlan and William; sister-in-law Lucille Knutson; and brothers-in-law John Jenkinson and Kenneth Gorham.
