14 March 2018Dorothy M. King, 84, of Mapleton, Iowa, formerly of Onawa, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 12, 2018, at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday, March 12, 2018, at the Rush Family Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.
Dorothy Mae was born on May 14, 1933, in Moorhead, Iowa, the daughter of Paul G. and Lola L. (Caldwell) Shultz. She grew up in Onawa, where she also attended school. She worked in housekeeping for various nursing homes in the area.
She enjoyed reading, needlework and embroidery, and spending time with her family. She attended the First Christian Church in Onawa.
Survivors include her children, Wayne "Buzz" (Lucille) Glieck of Davis City, IA, Verla (Jim Holt) Haislet of Cherokee, IA, Jan (Rey Salinas) Clarey of Charles City, IA, and Kathy (Michael) Waderich of Hornick, IA; six grandchildren, Wendy Waderich, Aaron Waderich, Michael (Kari) Haislet, Brad Shultz, Jonathan (Caitlin) Clarey, and Shannon Clarey; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lola Shultz; two sons, Robert and Terry; and two brothers, Merl Shultz and Ernie Shultz.
