Dolores "Lola" Stanislav, 78, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Esprit Whispering Ridge Assisted Living in Omaha, Nebraska.

A funeral mass will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at St. John's Catholic Church in Onawa, Iowa with Father Michael Erpelding, Celebrant officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 5, 2018 with a scriptural wake service at 7:00 P.M. at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Dolores "Lola" was born on August 14, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Manuel and Diana (Peresko) Guerra. She was raised in Kansas City, where she graduated from Bishop Ward High School.

Lola and Andrew "Andy" James Stanislav were united in marriage on November 28, 1959, in Kansas City, Kansas. The couple made their home in Omaha where they raised their two children, Janet and Tim. They celebrated fifty years of marriage before Andrew preceded her in death on June 29, 2010.

After the kids were old enough to start school, Lola worked in the school cafeteria as a "lunch lady". Lola then became a school bus driver for Omaha Public Schools for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, traveling, and her dogs.

She was a devout member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Janet and Bruce Hein of Moorhead, IA; a son and his wife, Tim and Lisa Stanislav of Omaha, NE; three grandchildren, Chris (fiancé Feleyn Schmidt) Peters, Jeff Peters, and Cole Stanislav; four sisters, Lucy Cluff, Catherine Guerra, Rose (Robert) Long, and Angeline Denning; one sister-in-law, Shirley Guerra; special nieces, Karen Cluff and Tonya Estrada; and many other nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Diana (Peresko) Guerra; her husband, Andrew "Andy" J. Stanislav; two brothers, Richard Guerra and Joseph (Ginny) Guerra; and one brother-in-law, Norman Denning.
