RODNEY, Iowa -- Vera Fern Cleveland, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at Maple Heights Care Center in Mapleton, Iowa, where she had resided for the past few months.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at United Church of Christ in Rodney. Burial will be in Little Sioux Cemetery at Smithland, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Willman Funeral Chapel in Rodney.

Vera Fern Cleveland was born Jan. 30, 1921, at Rosalie, Neb., the daughter of Vern Warren and Rose (Gunsolly) Martin. She attended school in Nebraska.

On Feb. 27, 1961, Vera was married to James L. Cleveland in Sioux City. They lived west of Rodney most of their married life until moving to Maple Heights in Mapleton. Vera worked as a bookkeeper for Booth Fishery and Wigman's Plumbing Supply in Sioux City.

Survivors include her husband, Jim, of Mapleton; three sisters, Bedola Gorum, Patty Warren and her husband, Donald, all of Omaha, Neb. and Ida Warren of Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and three sisters.
