CASTANA, Iowa -- Ronald G. Mauch, 59, of Castana died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Neb.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with the Rev. Meggan Manlove officiating. Burial will be in Jordan Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ronald was born June 29, 1946, in Castana, the son of Vernon and Evva Greenough Mauch. The family moved several times during Ronald's childhood, and he attended various schools.

On June 29, 1979, he was married to Beth Struble at Elk Point, S.D. They lived in Castana and Ronald worked as a truck driver and set-up man for Schenkelberg Implement in Onawa, Iowa.

He was a member of Soldier Lutheran Church and the Masonic Lodge. Ronald loved taking care of his lawn, pulling weeds rather then using chemicals that could harm his grandchildren or his dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Beth of Castana; his children, Jerry Yanak and wife, Barb and their son, Jerry Jake of Erie, Mich., Heather Bellis and husband, Bob and their children, Katelyn, Adam and Blake of Castana and Jeremy Yanak and wife, Kim and their children, Nicholas and Kristin of Castana; step grandchildren, David and Jenifer Weidt; his mother, Evva Mauch of Castana; two sisters, Dorothy Hale and husband, Lyle of Dallas Center, Iowa and Linda Kamm and husband, Warren of Van Meter, Iowa; three brothers, Jim Mauch and wife, Doris of Soldier, Jerry Mauch of Marshalltown, Iowa and Rusty Mauch of Sioux City; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Mauch; and two brothers, Vernon Jr. and Daniel "Whitey" Mauch, as an infant.
