Funeral services for Bennett Hedum, 60, 3012 Melrose Avenue, a former grocer who died Sunday at a hospital after a long illness, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Ivan Winter Chapel.

Rev. C.J. Tellekson of the Morningside Lutheran Church will officiate and there will be additional services at 3:45 o’clock Tuesday at the Ute, Iowa Cemetery.

Mr. Hedum was born May 27, 1887 at Soldier, Iowa. He came to Sioux City about 20 years ago. He married Maude Gibbs at Soldier February 19, 1909. He was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran Church.

Survivors besides the widow are two sons, H.L. and E.T. both of Sioux City; three brothers John of Soldier, Oliver of Omaha and Edwin of Hartington, Nebraska, two sisters, Mrs. Frank Strain of Soldier and Mrs. Hulda Soleberg of Moorhead, Iowa and five grandchildren.
