Obituary of Mrs. Charles Hair

Mrs. Charles Hair, the former Lola Flossie Keith, passed from this life in the Maple Heights Nursing Home, Mapleton, Iowa on Tuesday, January 1, 1980. Death came at the age of 86 years.

She was born December 8, 1893 at Superior, Nebraska to Benjamin and Letitia Mead Keith. On February 1, 1909, she was united in marriage to Frank Berka at Fairbury, Nebraska. They lived in Onawa where he operated a jewelry store. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1955. She was united in marriage to Charles Hair at Onawa. They lived in Smithland, Iowa. He preceded her in death December 14, 1974.

Survivors include four sons, Fred Berka, Sunnyvale, California; Donald Berka, Newton, Iowa; Dean Berka, Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Lloyd Berka, Davenport, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Lola) Bohall, Smithland, Iowa; and Mrs. Frank (Marie) Cox, Cookson, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two step-children, Jim Hair of Hornick and Mrs. Chris (Willemina) Schmidt, Newberg, Oregon; 8 step-grandchildren and 4 step great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands and 1 son Benjamin.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 1980, at William Funeral Chapel, Rodney, Iowa with Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. The organist was Mrs. Maude Persinger.

Casket bearers were Millard Hair, Bernard Hair, Vernon Hair, Leon Parsley, Jay Watson and Dean Thompson.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with arrangements by the William Funeral Home, Rodney, Iowa.
