Gene Albert Framke, 78, of Deland, FL, died Friday, September 23, 2005, with all his family present at his daughter's home.

He was born August 31, 1927, in Blencoe, Iowa to Albert William Henry Framke and Esther Albertina (Pearson) Framke. He married Rosemary Richardson on November 18, 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple lived many years in Sioux City and later in South Sioux City. Gene worked as a conductor for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad from 1949 to 1968. He also was a master carpenter and built several homes in the Siouxland area with his business partner and lifelong friend, Wayne Porter.

Gene and Rosie owned and operated Geno's Bar in Hubbard, NE from 1968 to 1983 when they moved to Orlando in 1983. He built many fine pieces of furniture for his family in later years.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary on March 1, 2005, and four sisters; Marie, Mable, Tiny and Blanche.

Mr. Framke is survived by a son, Steven Framke of Savannah, GA; a daughter and son-in-law Debbra and Doug Groseclose of Sanford, FL; grandchildren, Andrea Framke, Bradford Framke, Scott and his wife, Courtney Groseclose, Dee and her husband, Terry Clark; great grandchildren, Kelsey, Grayson and Jacob as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church, Sanford, FL, with Rev. James Bradshaw officiating. Music selections were "You Raise Me Up" and "Surely The Spirit Of The Lord Is In This Place" with Charles Haugabrooks, vocalist.

Casket bearers were Richard Wells, Don Gilbert, Mort Allread, Terry Clark, Richard Lexus, and Doug Groseclose.

Local' funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2005, at Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Rev. George Kemp officiating. Music selections were "You Raise Me Up" and "Surely The Presence Of The Lord Is In This Place."

Casket bearers were Tom Richardson, Jim Marshall, Billy Mortensen, Larry Framke, Denny Jones, and Sid Porter.

Interment was in Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa assisting the family.
