Mary F. Knutson, 85, Sioux City, died Tuesday, July 4, 1995, at a Sioux City hospital following a long illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Lutheran Church with the Rev. Marvin Mueller officiating. Burial will be in Valley Lutheran Cemetery in Soldier, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 9 p.m. at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Mrs. Knutson was born September 8, 1909, in Soldier, the daughter of Christian and Mathilda (Casperson) Longlee. She moved with her family to Castana, Iowa, at age 3 and attended Castana schools, graduating from Castana High School in 1927. She moved to Sioux City in 1930 and was employed at Wincharger Corp. She married Parke C. Knutson January 8, 1946 in Soldier. He died in October 1956 in Minneapolis.

Mrs. Knutson was a member of Morningside Lutheran Church and the Women’s Circle of the church. She was a member of the Siouxland Senior Citizen’s Center.

Survivors include a brother, Clifford Longlee of Onawa, Iowa; four sisters, Esther Kuhlmann of Onawa and Helen Hord and her husband, Everette, Maxine, Thoreson and Lillian Lane and her husband, Donald, all of Sioux City and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Carl and Melvin Longlee.

Pallbearers will be Jim Lane, Gus Hord, Ronny and Doug Kuhlmann and Steve and Dale Longlee.

A memorial has been established in her name with Morningside Lutheran Church.
