Harold "Hobo" Olson 1951 - 2017

SOUTH SIOUX CITY | Harold "Hobo" Olson, 65, of South Sioux City, died Monday, March 20, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital after a lengthy illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Skien Lutheran Church in Albaton, Iowa (rural Sloan). Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.

Hobo was born on Aug. 23, 1951, in Sioux City, and was a lifelong resident of the Sioux City area. Over the years, he worked in agriculture and was a bridge builder.

Hobo loved everything about motorcycles, especially his 1942 Knucklehead and his 88. He also enjoyed partying and the pretty girls. Everyone will remember Hobo by seeing him riding his Harley down the road and dancing. In later years, Hobo found Jesus and now is dancing at Jesus' feet with a smile on his face.

Hobo is survived by his wife, Arlyne Tompkins; son, Shane Olson; five brothers; four sisters; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Julie Strom and Mary Mather
