Dorothy M. Dutton, 77, Onawa, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 6, 2001 at her home.

Dorothy was born January 15, 1923 at Kellerton, Iowa, the daughter of Grover and Ola (Duffield) Mackey. The family moved to Whiting, Iowa in 1930 where she attended grade school and high school.

She married Roscoe “Tex” Dutton November 9, 1943 at Dakota City, Nebraska. She worked with the school lunch program at West Monona Community School for many years.

Dorothy was a member of First Christian Church, Onawa and Willing Workers Club. She enjoyed cooking for her family and especially baking cookies for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Roscoe; a daughter, Wanda Sarnson of South Sioux City, Nebraska; two sons and their wives, Larry and Sharon of Sante Fe, NM and Terry and Kim of Blair, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Jessica, Samson, Christopher, Mathew, Mark and Patrick Dutton; three sisters, Doris Cockerton of Onawa, Roberta Funkhouser of Lucerne, California and Alberta Maher of Onawa and a brother Robert Mackey of Millbrae, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Howard and Hollis.

Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2001 with Pastor Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Ann Phillips presented organ solos of “The Lords Prayer” and “In the Garden.” Burial was in Onawa Cemetery.

Casket bearers were John Hardison, Bob Hardison, David Fender, Steve Hiller, Kenneth Stangel and Christopher Dutton. Honorary bearers were Harold Gray, Earl Perry, Virgil Mann, Leonard Miller, John Falk, Marvin Redmond and Hugh Mahloch.

Arrangements were by Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
