Kitty J. (Sigler) Nickolaisen, 48, Blencoe, Iowa died Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Creighton Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.

Kitty was born February 24, 1958 at Pisgah, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard and Ruby (Armstrong) Sigler. She was raised in the Pisgah/ Mondamin areas and graduated from West Harrison School in 1976. She married Stephen “Steve” Nickolaisen July 24, 1999 at Mondamin, Iowa.

Kitty was a Certified Medical Aid and was employed at various nursing homes in Monona and Harrison Counties. She also enjoyed other jobs farming, bartending, etc.

She loved horses, the outdoors and especially times spent with her family and was a member of the Whiting Saddle Club.

Survivors include her husband, Stephen of Blencoe; two sons, Jeremy Sigler of Blencoe and Tommy Sigler of Little Sioux; her mother, Ruby of Little Sioux; two brothers and their wives, Butch Sigler and Connie Ehlert of Mondamin and Tim and Aileen Sigler of Pisgah and a sister and her husband, Bonnie and Norm Ellison of Missouri Valley; three nephews and five nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard; father and mother-in-law, Max and Theresa Nickolaisen and her grandparents.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Rush Family Chapel, Onawa with Elder Donnie Bothwell officiating. Music selections were “Angels Among Us” and “That Girl Is A Cowboy.” Burial was in Little Sioux Cemetery, Little Sioux, Iowa. Visitation was 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday with the family present 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Casket bearers were Brad Tank, Donnie Tank, Ed Collison, Jack Comfort, Rusty Collison, Eddie Grimes and John Grimes. Honorary bearers were Larry Armstrong, Shorty Grimes, Roger Pippit, Rick Shearer, Drew Sigler, Daniel Sigler, Tim Rife and Robert M. Tedford.
