Onawa Weekly Democrat 22Feb1900 The Week in Whiting Mrs. Sharlotte Walden died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G.W. McClain 17Feb1900. She was born in Pennsylvania 7May1835. She came to Decatur county IA in 1848 and in 1856 was united in marriage to Henry W. Walden and in 1864 they moved to Monona county. After residing here a few years she and husband moved to the Black Hills where they resided until they returned to the home of their son-in-law Mr. G.W. McClain some time last month. Mrs. Walden was converted when a girl and joined the Methodist church. She later joined the Christian church. She was the mother of eight children, seven of which are still living. The funeral was preached by Rev. Bartholomew at the residence of G.W. McClain where she died.
