Michael (Mike) G. Eisele, 64, of Onawa, Iowa, died Friday, November 25, 2016 at his residence.

Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Linda Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Mike Eisele was born March 10, 1952 in Onawa, Iowa, the son of Rogene and Joann (Stevenson) Eisele. He grew up on a farm in the Onawa area and graduated from West Monona High School in 1970. He attended Wayne State University in Wayne, Nebraska and graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in 1975.

Mike worked on a variety of jobs throughout his life. He worked in construction and also as a salesman for a candy and tobacco company, before finding a career as a soil conservation technician at the federal and state level where he worked for eighteen years.

Mike and Elaine (DeKoter) Eisele were united in marriage on July 12, 1975 in Onawa. To this union two sons were born: Rory and Ryan. Mike was an involved father who helped to coach his son's Little League teams and was never too busy to play catch in the backyard. Throughout his life he was very involved in Scouting, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout as a youth, and helping to serve as a Scoutmaster for his children's Cub and Boy Scout troops where he lead his troop on trips to Philmont, New Mexico and the Canadian Boundary Waters.

Mike was a lifelong Iowa Hawkeye fan whose two favorite teams were Iowa and whoever played Nebraska. He enjoyed travel and camping with his family and cared deeply about the outdoors and conservation and passed that love on to his wife and children.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Onawa and Blencoe.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Eisele of Onawa, IA; son Rory Eisele, his wife Amanda and two grandchildren, Lincoln and Emily of Bremerton, WA; son Ryan Eisele, and his wife Tara of Lee's Summit, MO; mother, Joann Eisele of Onawa, IA; sister, Rhonda Murray and husband Jaimie of Onawa, IA; brother-in-law Gary Dekoter and wife Linda of Steamboat Springs, CO; brother-in-law Dan Dekoter and friend Sue of Spirit Lake, IA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Rogene Eisele and Father and Mother-in-law Bill and Margaret Dekoter of Orange City.
