Jennifer Bonnes, 61, Onawa, Iowa died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.

Jennifer was born August 27, 1946 at Linton, North Dakota, the daughter of August and Blanche (Bukak) Schaffer. She was raised in Linton and graduated from Linton High School. She worked and lived in North Dakota and Omaha, Nebraska.

Jennifer and Dennis Bonnes were united in marriage April 22, 1968 at the United Pentecostal Church in Onawa. The couple moved to Onawa, Iowa in the mid 1970's. Jennifer worked at Helen's Restaurant, Onawa Country Store, Elmwood Care Centre and Magic Depot.

Jennifer enjoyed painting and one of her paintings is at the baptismal font at United Pentecostal Church' at Onawa.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis of Onawa; a brother, August Schaffer of Bismark, ND and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa with Pastor Brian Kinney officiating. Burial was in Onawa Cemetery. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Casket bearers were Charlie Brown, Vernon Myers, Jim Beck and John, Brian and Kyle Savery.
