Verneal "Bunny" (Wimer) Traver, 60, of Sioux City died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, at On With Life in Glenwood, Iowa.

Services will be 9 a.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Jon Gaul officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Cemetery, Ute, Iowa.

Mrs. Traver was born March 28, 1943, in Ute, Iowa, the daughter of William Frank and Traca Linea (Bergerson) Wimer. She grew up in Mapleton, Iowa, where she graduated from Mapleton High School. She moved to Sioux City shortly following her graduation.

She worked as a secretary in South Sioux City for Siouxland Engineering, the Sioux City Auditorium, First National Bank and KTRI Radio Station.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Her greatest love was her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her courage and strong spirit as she faced the many challenges of her illness were an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by two daughters, Carrie L. Huff of Dallas, Texas, and Laurie Johnson of Sioux City; a sister and her husband, JoAnn and Irvin Thies of Mapleton, Iowa; two grandchildren, Tyler and Tasha; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Jim Thies, Pat DeMara, Phillip Hinds, Irvin Thies, Steve Soukup and Selmer Bergerson.
