26 September 2016Wayne E. Bakke, 80, of Whiting, Iowa formerly of Sloan, Iowa passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.
There will be private family services with Pastor Craig Bock, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.
Wayne was born on March 27, 1936 to Leonard and Esther Bakke. He resided in the Sloan (Albaton) area his entire life.
On September 1, 1957 Wayne and Maryann were united in marriage. They were blessed with a son and daughter, Wayne Jr. and Renee.
Wayne farmed until he retired. He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, antique tractors and engines, and his family.
Wayne was a member of the Skien Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Maryann; his son, Wayne Bakke, Jr. of Whiting, IA; his daughter, Renee (Greg) Rose of Sioux City, IA; five granddaughters, Andrea (John) Hurni, Angela (Jay) Kamradt, Amy (Billy) Brooks, Amber (Jesse) Barclay, and Raeann Rose and fiancé Christopher Nieman; thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Tim (Cindy); and a sister, Kay Kirkpatrick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale; and a sister-in-law, Dorie.
