Henry Herbert McCall, 78, lifelong resident of Castana, area died May 22, 1986, of injuries suffered in a tractor accident on a farm near Castana.

He was born February 18, 1908, near Castana, to Henry Holland and Florence McCall. During World War II, he served his country in the U.S. Army. On October 10, 1959, he married Jean Hull at Onawa. He had lived and farmed near Castana all his life.

He was a member of the Grimsley- Thayer American Legion Post No. 502 at Castana.

Survivors include his wife, Jean, a son, Henry D. of Castana, and two brothers, James of Santa Clara, Calif., and Earl of Mondamin.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 1986, at the First Christian Church at Onawa with Rev. Jerry Quandt officiating. Mrs. Orville Rutledge, the organist, accompanied the soloist, Rev. Quandt, in the selections "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Bearers were Charles McCall, Lee McCall, Reuben McCall, Marvin McCall, Ernest Nutt and Walter Wilson.

Interment was in Kennebec Cemetery at Castana with Military Services by Grimsley Thayer American Legion Post No. 502, Castana, Gilbert Gotto, Commander.

Arrangements were by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa.
