Donald Edwin Kepner, formerly of Onawa and Sioux City, Iowa, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack on May 9, 1986, at his residence in Branson, Missouri He had reached the age of 53 years 4 months and 13 days.

He was born on December 26, 1932, at Onawa, the son of Lester and Daisy (Gries) Kepner He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict He was a longtime Sioux City resident where he was a dispatcher with Radio Cab Co. for many years. He retired to Brandson two years ago because of poor health.

Early in life he accepted Christ as his Savior He was baptized in the First Christian Church at Onawa where he was a member. He attended the Slane Baptist Church in Branson.

Survivors include his wife, Viola of Branson, a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Frances) Knight of Branson, two sisters, Mrs. John (Viola) Sheldon of Wichita, Kans. and Mrs. Alan (Carole) Larsen of Clearfield, Iowa; two brothers, Kenneth Kepner of Rushville, Mo. and Vernon Kepner of St. Joseph, Mo.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Services were held at 1.00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 1986, at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Rev. Bill Moody officiating. The organist, Mrs. Steven Johnson, accompanied Penny Knight and Harold Knight who sang "How Great Thou Art" Frances Knight sang "Why Me Lord."

Bearers were Curtis Knight, Patrick, Cowan, Denny Martin, Mike Kepner, Trevor Hodge and Wayne Gries.

Interment was in St. Clair Cemetery at Ute, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
