Lawrence Henry Boe 1909 - 1986

Lawrence Henry Boe was born December 28, 1909, in Willow Township, Monona County, Iowa, the son of John E. and Lulu M. Boe. He died at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley on Friday, April 11, 1986, having reached the age of 76 years and 3 months.

He received his education in the Woodbine School district and spent his entire life farming. He had a great interest in reading, world affairs and mechanics He was baptized as a young child and at the time of his death was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church.

On February 24, 1959 he was married to Ruth Shumate They farmed west of Dunlap for 24 years, just three years ago moving into town in Dunlap Lawrence continued farming during this time.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, four sisters, Neva, Mrs. Kenneth Austin of Dunlap, Irene, Mrs. Dewey Cleveland of Woodbine, Betty Boe of Dunlap, and Enid, Mrs. Richard Brown of San Diego, Calif. nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Warren, and a sister Lila Jackson.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 14, 1986 at 2 p m at the United Methodist Church in Dunlap with Dr James Campbell officiating. James Campbell officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. Robert Mitchell as organist.

Pallbearers were Jack Hawn, LaVerne Jochims, George Kinder, Clyde Crandall, Leonard Bolton, Gerald Hicks Interment was made in the Dow City Cemetery Fouts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
