Bessie Lindgren, the daughter of James and Anna Jorgensen Sorensen, was born December 26,1886, in Moorhead. On March 31, 1986, she passed away at the Spencer Hospital at the age of 99.

Bessie graduated from Moorhead High School in 1905, and taught in rural schools until her marriage. She married Emit W. Lindgren on August 12, 1908, in Moorhead. Their entire married life was spent in the Moorhead area. During that time she was active in the Bethesda Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Upon the death of her husband in 1963, she moved to Spencer.

Mrs. Lindgren is survived by her two daughters, Virgie, Mrs. L. W. Larson and Anita Dyhrkopp both of Spencer, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six brothers and a sister.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 4, 1986 at 1:30 p. m. at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead with Pastor Paul Birkedal officiating. Deb Lauritsen accompanied the soloist, Steve Johnson on the organ He sang "He Leadeth Me" and "How Great Thou Art."

Casket bearers were Virgil Johnson, Harold Swenson, George Moorhead, Carroll Johnson, Earl Hindrichsen, and Darrel Van Ness.

Interment was in Spring Valley Cemetery, Moorhead, with arrangements by Warner Funeral Home, Spencer.
