Mary Frances Langren passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Arbor Springs Nursing Home in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Private family services were held at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa with Dr. Emery Killian officiating. Burial was in the Whiting City Cemetery at Whiting, Iowa. Arrangements were under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.

Mary Frances was born on April 28, 1924 on the family farm between Decatur and Tekamah, Nebraska. The daughter of Henry Bayard and Gladys Magdalene (Wesgaard) Johnson, she was the second of seven children.

After attending country school and graduating from Riverside District 6 High School in 1941, Mary Fran then attended and graduated from Wayne State College and became a teacher.
She was united in marriage with Donald Richard Langren on June 17, 1950. Following Don's graduation from West Point that same year, he was sent to Korea and returned in February of 1952. Don resigned his commission in 1954 and they moved to Onawa, where they built and operated Langren Grain the following year.
Together, Don and Mary Fran raised five children. Mary Fran especially enjoyed gardening, reading, travel, playing bridge, and participating in community arts.

Survivors include her sons and daughters, D.R. (Rebecca) Langren of Cheyenne, WY, Carl (Susan) Langren of Des Moines, IA, Rebecca (Byron) Augustin of Valladolid Yucatan, Mexico, Sara Kelley of Austin, TX, and Mary Sue Adams of Waterloo, IA; nine grandchildren, Kelly & Andrew, Marcia & Michael, Frances (Yuki) & Will, Samantha (Jeremy); and two great-grandchildren, Cason and Nicholas. She is further survived by her sisters, Jen (Tex) Rathkamp and Joyce Alleley; a brother, Mark (Ruth) Johnson; a brother-in-law, Phil (Peggy) Bliss; and two sisters-in-law, Marian Johnson and Dee Neill; as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Don; three siblings, Marcia Bliss, Norma Mueller, Keith Johnson; and one brother-in-law, Don Alleley.
