Bode J.O. Lloyd, 18, died during a fishing accident in rural Dow City on Sunday, March 20.

Visitation: Thursday, March 24, 3-8 p.m., National Guard Armory, Denison.

Funeral Service: Friday, March 25, 10 a.m., Denison High School in Denison.

Bode was born in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Feb. 26, 1998, the son of Kevin and Suzanne Lloyd.

Bode attended elementary and middle school in Mountain Lake Community Schools and moved to Kiron in 2012 to live with his father. He continued his education in the Denison Community High School where he was to graduate with the class of 2016.

While in school, he worked for K and D Construction in Vail, Quality Truck and Trailer and Quality Communications. During his junior year in high school, he enlisted in the Iowa National Guard and served in boot camp at Ft. Jackson, S.C., from June 7 to Aug. 8, 2015. After graduating from high school, he was to be shipped to Ft. Lee, Va., for continued training as a diesel mechanic with 93rd Bravo Company.

Bode was an energetic young man enjoying various sports in his educational career including wrestling, football, basketball, fishing, hunting, NASCAR racing, snowmobiling in the Snowy Mountain Range, Wyo., and mudding with a four-wheel drive pickup. His principal hobbies involved tinkering with motors and working on cars. He did summer trucking with his father and was a very considerate man who would offer his assistance to anyone who was in need of his help. He had a firm interest in the military and considered making a career in the service.

Bode is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gary and Hilda; step-grandfather, Gil.

Survivors include his father, Kevin and Tami; his mother, Suzanne; stepfather, Jesse; one brother, Tanner; one sister, Elizabeth; two step-brothers, Brandon and his wife, Alissa, and Kelby and his wife, Rya; maternal grandparents, Linden and Sharon and step-grandmother, Deb; one uncle, Jeff and special friend, Tina; aunts, Sondra, and her husband, Todd, Shannon and her husband, Brett, Kelli and her husband, Michael, Kim, and Marcia and her husband, Todd.
