ALMON L. ADAMS PASSES AWAY

Had Lived In Monona County Since1871…. Was a Well Known, Farmer.

Almon L Adams, who was known to his friends as "Tute" Adams, a prominent and well known farmer living four miles south of town died Monday night after a prolonged illness, his ailment being chronic bronchitis.

Almon L Adams was the son of John and Sarah Skinner Adams and was born in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, July 26, 1849. Mr. Adams came of Puritan ancestry, his ancestors being English colonists who settled in Massachusetts in the early part of the seventeenth century. He lived in Pennsylvania until twelve years of age when he moved with his parents to Floyd County, Iowa. He remained with them until 1869, when he attained to the age of twenty, be went to Bon Homme county, South Dakota. He remained there two years, then came to Monona County, arriving in 1871 and this vicinity has been his home since that time.

He was united in marriage December 25, 1873 to Miss Mary E. Jewell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Jewell of Franklin Township, who enjoys the distinction of being the third child born in Monona County.

He is survived by his wife and three children, Joseph and Guy and Mrs. Oak Bader. Mr. Adams was a man who was devoted to his family, kind and considerate to his neighbors, and was much loved by all who knew him intimately.

Funeral services were conducted at the home yesterday afternoon by Rev. Jorgensen.
