HE HAD LIVED IN MONONA COUNTY HIS ENTIRE LIFE OF 54 YEARS
Mr. Wright Was Well Known Throughout the County due to his Long Residence Here - For Years the Wright Home on Blue Lake has been the Mecca for Campers and Picnickers.
Nearly everyone in this vicinity knew and spoke well of Al Wright who passed away at his home on the banks of Blue Lake last Saturday after being a resident here since his birth some 54 years ago. He was kindly and courteous to his friends and neighbors, the Wright home has for years been the mecca for hunters, campers and pickners. Cottages were built on the home place for the convenience of them. The Wright family of which was a member has been known as generally as the Lake itself. In his passing this community loses a good man and friend.
Albert E. Wright was born in Monona County, Franklin township, Sept. 23, 1879 and departed this life on November 11, 1933 aged 54 eyars, 1 mont and 18 days.
He came from a large family of children, 9 boys and 5 girls - six of whom preceded him in death, his father also passed away several years ago. His mother is still living, but unable because of her age to attend the funeral services. Besides his mother, he leaves to mourn his departure four brothers, John, jAlfred, Nelson and Ernest jWright, also three sisters, Mrs. Ella Zimmerman of Turin, Iowa; Mrs. Kate Ooten of Onawa and Mrs. Isabelle Stanley of Larabee, Ia.
Most of his life has been spent in Monona County. For a few years he lived in Montana and Colorado.
He was a man of high character, honest and reliable and will be greatly missed by those with whom he was closely associated.
Rev. Oliver M. Adams conducted the services Tuesday form the Congregational Church in this city and burial was made in Onawa Cemetery.
