20 January 2016Shelby Taylor Solberg, 17, of Moorhead, Iowa died Friday, January 15, 2016 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Moorhead, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead, Iowa with Pastor Carla Johnsen, officiating. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery, rural Moorhead, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 18, 2016 with a prayer service at 7:30 P.M. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Shelby Taylor was born August 19, 1998 in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Dustin and Doris (Montange) Solberg. The family moved to Moorhead in 2007. She was currently a junior at West Harrison High School in Mondamin, Iowa where she enjoyed singing in the school choir.
Shelby enjoyed riding 4 wheelers, watching her shows on Netflix, hanging with her friends, and playing summer league adult softball with the "Solberg Family".
She was affiliated with the Bethesda Lutheran Church and Moorhead Christian Church.
Survivors include her parents, Doris and Dustin Solberg of Moorhead, IA; brother, Braiden Solberg of Moorhead, IA; sister, Sidney Solberg of Moorhead, IA; grandparents, Larry Solberg of Moorhead, IA, Lori Solberg of Denison, IA, Ken Montange of Denison, IA, and Barb Malone of Pocahontas, IA; great-grandmother's, JoAnn Solberg of Moorhead, IA and Ornella Malone of Dunlap, IA; great-great-grandparents, Kay (MaryLou) Olson of Denison, IA; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and great friends.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandfathers, Donnie Solberg and Fred Malone and great uncle, Jeff Solberg.
