17 February 2016Nell A. White, 69, of Moorhead, Iowa, died Thursday, February 11, 2016 at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center- Unity Point Health in Sioux City, Iowa.
A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa, with a memorial service at 6:30 P.M. Burial will be at a later date in the Lawn Haven Cemetery in Clovis, New Mexico. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.
Nell Ann was born May 1, 1946 in Clovis, New Mexico, daughter of Joe William and Zilla Melvina "Melva" (Errington) Thrasher. She grew up in Clovis and graduated from Clovis High School in 1964. She went on to achieve her LPN license.
Nell and Alvin White were united in marriage on May 30, 1976 in Clovis. The couple lived in various locations while Alvin was enlisted in the United States Air Force, and she worked for many different medical facilities, nursing homes, and doctor's offices. They moved to this area in 1986, and currently made their home in Moorhead.
She enjoyed water skiing and all animals, especially horses. A favorite hobby was barrel racing.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary and served as a Worthy Advisor for the Rainbows.
Nell is survived by her husband, Alvin White of Moorhead, IA; daughter, Regina Giffin of Onawa, IA; two brothers, Joe D. (Sandra) Thrasher of Amarillo, TX and Max (Mandy) Thrasher of Albuquerque, NM; nephews, Kerry Thrasher of Seattle, WA, Cory Thrasher of San Francisco, CA, and Kendall and Colin Thrasher, both of Albuquerque, NM; as well as several cousins, other relatives, and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe W. and Melva Thrasher; maternal grandparents, Walter and Cornelia Errington; paternal grandparents, Luby and Flora Thrasher; and several aunts and uncles.
