Mrs. Roy J. Sweet, the former Clara Estella Andersen, was born July 5, 1877 at Bryant, Iowa and died Tuesday, April 20, 1971 at a nursing home in Sioux City at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 15 days.

She was married November 19, 1899 at Mapleton, Iowa. Mr. Sweet was a faculty member in the Morningside College conservatory of Music. He died in 1958.

Mrs. Sweet moved to Sioux City, Iowa in 1923 and she has lived there for 48 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Women’s Society for Christian Service and Morningside Chapter 502, Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, Charles L. of Boulder City, Nevada; a sister, Miss Cora Anderson of Mapleton, Iowa; three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 22, 1971 at the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside. Rev. Merton B. Green of Grace United Methodist Church officiated, with burial in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Mapleton, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Frank Stickney, E. Don Goodwin, Eugene A. Sweum, Carl Gall, L.R. Holland and Odes Hilton.
