Funeral Services Held For Cora Anderson April 3

Cora Celia Anderson, daughter of Charles and Emma (Stolterberg) Anderson, was born April 7, 1883 at Bryant, Iowa and died April 1, 1974, at her home in Mapleton, Iowa. She had reached the age of 90 years, 11 months and 24 days.

Miss Anderson came to Mapleton with her parents in 1886 at the age of three years. She worked in her father’s general store and graduated from Mapleton in 1903. She attended college at Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she graduated in and later taught school for 25 years as a Home Economics and English teacher in the Climbing Hill, Oto and Onawa Schools. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church at Mapleton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include one nephew, Charles Sweet of Anaheim, California.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 3, 1974 at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church in Mapleton. Rev. Joseph Gregori officiated and burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Mapleton.

Pallbearers were: Vierl Johnson, Bert VanderNaald, Keith Oregon, Francis Naulteus, Walt Clausen and James Whiting.
