Eldon A. Rayevich, 72, of Soldier, Iowa died Monday, January 4, 2016 at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Karen Handke, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Eldon Albert was born November 15, 1943 in Battle Creek, Iowa the son of Albert George and Freda Matilda Maria (Schultz) Rayevich. He grew up in the Battle Creek, Danbury, and Anthon, Iowa areas.

Eldon and Carol Lundgren were united in marriage on November 15, 1974.

Eldon worked for various farmers, and Westendorf Manufacturing as a welder in Onawa, Iowa. Eldon also cut wood and scrap iron over the years.

Eldon enjoyed fishing and attending demo derbies. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom Eldon would tease in a kind hearted way. Eldon enjoyed going to coffee with the guys and conversations. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Rayevich of Soldier, IA; children, Cindy (Troy) Long of Sioux City, IA, Jerry (Wendy) Hayden of Soldier, IA, and Stacy (Cori) Rayevich of Castana, IA; grandchildren, Brett (Starr) Gray, Rena (Casey) Skarin, Kara (Josh) Van Beek, Jesse Rayevich, Haley Long, Tessa (Matt Savery) Rayevich, Allyson Lee, Victor Hayden, and Thomas Hayden; great-grandchildren, Sadie Gray, Casey Skarin Jr., Alyce Skarin, and Mathew Van Beek; three sisters-in-law, Judy Faber of Oto, IA, Jeanette Amble of Sioux City, IA, and Alice Pedersen of Emerson, NE; two brothers-in-law, George Lundgren of Emerson, NE and Charles "Chuck" Lundgren of Cascade, MT; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Freda; and one brother, Lyle Rayevich.
