Harold Nugent was born October 30, 1904 in Tazewell County, Illinois the son of Michael and Mary Nugent.

When a boy, he came to Monona County with his parents, brothers and sisters. He was reared to young manhood in this community, being a graduate of the Blencoe high school and for the past several years has been engaged in farming with his brother Ben. He died Thursday March 6. His father passed away April 19, 1924.

Surviving besides his mother are five sisters, Mrs. Thos Powers of Missouri Valley, Mrs. Ben Elliff of Oelwein, la; Mrs. D. C. Kelsey of Solon, la., Mrs. W. W. Shea of Soldier and Mrs. D. S. Emal of Pickrell, Nebr. and four brothers, M. W. of Blencoe, Leo and John of Omaha and Ben W. of Blencoe.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Blencoe in charge of Rev. Louis J. Savage. Burial was made in the family lot in the Onawa cemetery.

At the time of his death he was 25 years 4 months, 26 days old. Harold Nugent was honored and loved by scores of friends. He was never known to have had a single enemy. He was quiet in his manners, devoted to his work and always trustworthy. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to this family in their bereavement.
