Orvia C. Thurman was born at Sheridan, Ind., Feb. 21, 1889 and died at the Iowa City hospital early Sunday morning Dec. 29, 1929, age 40 years, 10 months, 10 days. He had always lived in Indiana until a little over a year ago when he came to Iowa and settled at Onawa. He was united in marriage July 3, 1929 to Mrs. Jennie Strunk, the widow of Herschel Strunk who died a number of years ago.

This marriage while less than six months was a most happy one.

Besides his widowed wife he leaves to mourn his death three brothers, two sisters and two children by a former marriage, all living in or near Sheridan, Ind.

Funeral services were held from the Barnard Funeral Home on New Year's Day at 2 o'clock with Rev. Wm. Zabilka officiating. Interment being made in the Onawa cemetery.
