Funeral of Mrs. James Anderson Held Tuesday

Lois Mary Naden was born in Plattville, Ill. Nov. 22, 1889. When five months of age her parents came to Iowa and settled on a farm near Blencoe. She attended the Blencoe public schools and after graduation took additional training in the Normal school at Castana. Twenty- two years ago she moved with her parents to Onawa and resided in this community till her death. Although of a retiring disposition, her always evident willingness to be of service to others has made for her an unviable place in the hearts of a host of friends.

She was a lifelong member of the Congregational church and a member of the Rebekah lodge.

She was united in marriage to James B. Anderson of Onawa, Oct. 9, 1918. To this union was born a daughter, Nadine. Husband and daughter remain to mourn her loss.

After a long period of ill health, her condition became critical and though she was given every possible care, human skill was unable to check the ravages of the deadly malady which caused her passing. Although the intense suffering of her last few months was eased by the tender ministration of her husband and mother who were in constant attendance at her bedside, the welcome release from pain came in peaceful slumber at the Clarkson Memorial hospital at Omaha on the 17th of December.

Always a devoted wife and loving mother this splendid example of womanhood leaves behind in addition to her husband and daughter, her parents Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Naden and brother George of Onawa; and four sisters, Mrs. Nora Lown of Castana, Ia., Mrs. Etta Harrison of Billings, Montana; Mrs. Edith Stone of Alliance, Nebr. and Mrs. Mildred Criddlebaugh of Rockford, Illinois.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Congregational church, Rev. O. W. Adams preaching the funeral sermon and burial was made in the Onawa cemetery. Brown Funeral Home was in charge.
