Pioneer of County Buried Here Sunday

Mrs. Annie Vincent mother of Mrs. Florence Johnson of this city died at her home here Thursday at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 22 days. She had been in ill health for several years and was confined to her bed much of the time.

Annie Woodhead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Woodhead was born in Rochdale, England Nov. 21st 1847. She was united in marriage to James C. Vincent Dec. 20th, 1869 at Salt Lake City, Utah by Rev, Daniel H. Weels, and to this union were born ten children, Albert Arthur, Geo. Herbert, Annie, Henry Ernest, Estella, Alfred Edgar, Frank Harvard, Florence Ethel, Pearl Beatrice and Irene Myrtle.

The family farm in Monona County. They came to Iowa in 1870 and came to Onawa in 1887, where Mrs. Vincent remained a resident during the rest of her life. Mr. Vincent passed away in 1893.

Mrs. Vincent is survived by eight children G. H. Vincent of Pisgah; H. E. Vincent of Estherville; Mrs. Stella Warner of Seattle, Wash.; F. E. Vincent of Ft. Knox, Ky.; F H. Vincent of Paulsby, Wash.; Mrs. Florence Johnson of Onawa; Mrs. Cecil Burr of Pasadena, Calif.; and Mrs. Irene Murchison of Aberdeen, Wash. There are eighteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Christian church of Onawa and lived faithful to its teachings. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon. Rev. Potter of Moorhead officiating in the absence of the regular pastor and burial was in the Onawa cemetery.
