Isabel (Adkins) Willey, 87, of Sioux City died Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at Elmwood Care Center in Onawa, Iowa.

Graveside services will be at noon Saturday in Onawa City Cemetery, with the Rev. Phil Olson of Tri-State Christian Church of South Sioux City officiating. Visitation with the family present will be 6 to 8 today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Willey was born July 30, 1912, in Onawa, the daughter of Joe and Nellie (Hunting) Adams. She graduated from Blencoe (Iowa) High School in 1930.

She married Paul Adkins on May 15, 1932, in Moorhead, Iowa. He died Nov. 18, 1959, in Sioux City.

They lived in Onawa until moving to Sioux City in 1957. She worked for St. Joseph Hospital for many years.

She belonged to First Christian Church.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Jerry and Carolyn Adkins of Duluth, Ga.; four daughters, Joan and her husband, Jim Howard of Anchor Point, Alaska, Pauline and her husband, Ivan “Bud” Benson of Homer, Alaska, Linda and her husband, Ron Craft and Janella Towns and Rex Towns, all of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Dean and Betty Winterringer of LeMars, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Conrad, and a sister, Muriel Meyer.
