ONAWA, Iowa | Ellen "Mae" Mustard, 82, of Onawa died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, with the Rev. Dennis Burns officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery at Onawa. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the chapel.

Ellen Mae was born Nov. 16, 1932 in Missouri Valley, Iowa, the daughter of George Ernest and Mildred Mae (Pixler) Jones. She graduated from Whiting High School.

Ellen Mae met Donald Mustard in 1950, and on Dec. 6, 1952, they were married in Onawa. To this union, four children were born. Mae lived most of her life in the Whiting and Onawa area. She worked at Elmwood Nursing Home for several years as a certified nursing assistant.

Mae was a member of the Onawa United Methodist Church in Onawa. Mae’s husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the love of her life. She enjoyed cooking for them, camping together, and doing everything with them. She liked to dance, loved music, liked to embroidery and crochet. She loved to visit with family and friends. Mae also enjoyed and loved their little dog, Patch.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Donald Mustard of Onawa; one son, Brian Mustard (special friend, Diane) of Onawa; two daughters, Brenda (Monte) Bromander of Sloan, Iowa, and Lori (Reggie) Zimmerman of Savannah, Mo.; four grandchildren, Andy (Nicole) Bromander, Chantel (Darrell) Jones, Nick Mustard and Travis Mustard; nine great-grandchildren, Montana, Houston, Elizabeth, Braeden, Dillon, Jacob, Tyler, Dayton and Gavin; three sisters, Helen Corn of Sioux City, Rose Quinlain of Sioux City, and Mert Watson (special friend, Bill Ballard) of Onawa; one brother, Donald Jones of Anthon, Iowa; and brother and sister-in-law, Ronald (Belva) Mustard of Fisher, Ind.; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Barry Lee Mustard; five brothers, Marion, George Jr., Wayne, Everett and Eddie; granddaughter, Shawna Marie Bromander; and her father- and mother-in-law, Maurice and Irene Mustard.
