MOORHEAD, Iowa | Garry J. LaGois Sr., 69, of Moorhead passed away Dec. 22, 2014, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, with the Rev. Dennis Burns officiating. Military rites will be provided by the U.S. Army. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Garry John LaGois Sr. was born on Sept. 12, 1945, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Walter and Alice (Williams) LaGois. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969.

Garry was united in marriage with Sandra Lee Paulin on Sept. 16, 1969. To this union, four children were born.

He enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, and to build things with his own two hands. He was a man of pride and loved spending time with his family. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren.

Garry is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, of Moorhead; four children, Tammy LaGois of Moorhead, Garry (Donna) LaGois Jr. of Garrison, N.D., John (Shasta) LaGois of Pisgah, Iowa, and Hollie (Brian) Williams of Omaha; 14 grandchildren, Jacob LaGois, Michael Aufrance, Austin Aufrance, Laura LaGois, Casey LaGois, Galen LaGois, Trey LaGois, Shelby Lagois, Ashton Dickinson, Logan McCall, Alana Senn, Tiffaney Senn, Carissa Senn, and Breanna Williams; three great-grandchildren, Allison, Sophia, and Ryan; and one brother, George LaGois of Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; one sister, Karen Sayre; and three brothers, Walter "Butch" LaGois, James LaGois, and Christopher LaGois.
