UTE, Iowa | Donna L. Timm, 80, of Ute died on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Sloan, Iowa.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute, with the Rev. Marcus Manley officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Root Funeral Home in Onawa, Iowa.

Donna Lillian (Jacobs) Timm, the daughter of Elmer and Leona (Hennings) Jacobs, was born June 14, 1934, in Charter Oak, Iowa. She grew up and attended school in Ute and graduated from Ute High School with the class of 1952. During her younger years, Donna worked at the Ute Theatre and Ute Sweet Shop.

On June 8, 1952, Donna was united in marriage to Norman H. Timm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute. To this union five daughters were born, Deb, Denise, Deanna, Danette and Dodie. The family made their home in Ute and Donna helped her husband with the family business, Norman Timm Sales. In later years, she worked at Mapleton Head Start and recently volunteered at Burgess Health Center.

Donna was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed antiquing, quilting, refinishing furniture and cooking. Most of all, Donna enjoyed spending time with her family.

Donna is survived by her husband, Norman Timm of Ute; daughters, Deb Kratochvil of Hawarden, Iowa, Denise (Curt) Ossenkop of Omaha, Deanna (Brian) Mullen of Wichita, Kan., Danette (Al) Thibault of Springfield, Neb., and Dodie Layton of Vineland, N.J.; grandchildren, Dustin (Beth) Kratochvil, Jason (Brooke) Ossenkop, JD (Sarah) Thibault, Alex Thibault, Andrew Ossenkop, Haylee (Adam) Gabel, Alysa Layton, Andrea Layton, and Patrick Mullen; great-grandchildren, Sam and Sarah Kratochvil, Aubrey Ossenkop, Rahlyn, Brystol, and Ellyson Gabel; sisters, Norma (Jim) Hasbrouck of Des Moines, and Lois (Arlo) Buck of Carroll, Iowa; brother-in-law, Larry Malone of Des Moines; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

Donna was preceded in death by parents, Elmer and Leona (Hennings) Jacobs; a sister in infancy, Mary Ann; and a grandson, Tyler Kratochvil.

Donna was a devoted wife and mother. Her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her sisters meant the world to her and she was never without a smile and a hello to everyone she knew. She was a source of strength to her family and will be greatly missed. Donna and her beloved sister, Myrna Malone, were called home together, two sisters, two angels.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Donna Timm Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.
