M. HAYHURST IS KILLED IN ACTION
Was with Marines at Iwo Jima—Brother’s Wife is Former Mapleton GirlPvt. Maynard Hayhurst, son of Mrs. Nancy Hayhurst of Rodney, was killed in action in March on Iwo Jima with the Marines, according to a telegram received by his mother from the War Department this week.
He is survived by his widow and small child, who live near Chicago; his mother; one brother, Milton Hayhurst of Rodney; and two sisters, Mrs. Murl Lulumendre at Rodney, and Miss Majorie Hayhurst in California.
Milton’s wife is a daughter of Minus Jensen and Mrs. Grace Jensen of Mapleton.
