ONAWA, Iowa — Anna V. Johnson, 99, of Onawa died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Onawa Cemetery, with the Rev. David Montecuollo officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.

Mrs. Johnson was born Sept. 15, 1899, in Reform, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Gruber) McClellan. She moved to Monona County, Iowa, in 1924.

She married Earl P. Scurlock on March 20, 1926, in Castana, Iowa. He died in 1942, in Sioux City.

She married Lawrence W. Johnson on Aug. 2, 1943, in Whiting, Iowa. He died Dec. 21, 1972, in Onawa.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Decker of St. Joseph, Mo., and Hilda Lorenzen of Onawa; a brother and his wife, Edison and Irene McClellan of Onawa; three stepsons, Mylo and his wife, Gurry of Las Vegas, Nev., Farrell and his wife, Joanne of Rolling Hills, Calif., and Lawrence Jr. of San Jose, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Lavon and her husband, Sam Sorci of San Jose and Emma Adams of Onawa; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a stepson, Kenneth Johnson two brothers, John and James; and two sisters, Betty Bern and Leona Heller.
