ONAWA, Iowa — Betty V. Bern, 85, of Onawa died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

There will be no services. Private family burial will be in Onawa City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home in Sioux City.

Mrs. Bern was the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Gruber) McClellan. She was raised in the Castana, Iowa, area. She lived in Sioux City for a few years and in Onawa for 19 years.

Survivors include two sons, Donald and Larry Buller, both of California; three sisters, Anna Johnson and Hilda Lorenzen, both of Onawa and Mary Decker of Union Star, Mo.; and a brother, Edison McClellan of Onawa.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
