Albert J. Conyers, 85, of Onawa, Iowa, died Sunday, September 12, 1999, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa.

Albert was born January 6, 1914, at Moorhead, Iowa, the son of George and Jennie (Frisk) Conyers. He attended Onawa Community School in Onawa. On November 21, 1930, he married Helen Young at Tekamah, Nebraska. She died September 12, 1993, in Onawa. He worked at the Martin Bomber Plant at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska, before moving to Smithland in 1950. The couple farmed there until retiring in 1978 and moving to Onawa.

He enjoyed collecting things, gardening and garage sales.

Survivors include 2 sons and their wives, Albert and Jean Conyers and David and Sue Conyers, all of Omaha, Nebraska; 2 daughters and their husbands, Jane and Jack Adams of Omaha, Nebraska, and Barbara and Ron McNear of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 brother and his wife, Jack and Lillian Conyers of Onawa; and 2 sisters, Mary Anderson of Whiting, and Doris and her husband, Lloyd McCall of Sioux City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; 2 brothers, Everett and Bert; and 2 sisters, Ruth Harris and Della Mann.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 17, 1999, at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Donald R. Ludwick officiating. The organist was Mrs. Jack Jordan and the soloist, Pastor Donald R. Ludwick, sang the selection, "In The Garden".

A Honorary Bearer was David Conyers, Jr. and the Casket Bearers were John Adams, Gary Conyers, Mike Conyers, Steve Conyers, Kevin McNear and Tony Neal.

Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa,Iowa, with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
