MAPLETON, Iowa — Mildred "Millie" Clark, 77, of Mapleton died Saturday, Aug. 30, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. Edmund Tiedeman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. said by the St. Mary's Guild and a vigil wake service at 7 p.m., at the Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Clark was born Oct. 5, 1919, in Mapleton, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Schoenherr) Morgan. She was raised in the Mapleton area and attended college for two years.

She married Clifton C. Clark on Oct. 5, 1942, in Mapleton. She taught country school and owned a dress shop in Mapleton. She later, taught in the Maple Valley School District. He died May 13, 1990.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Guild and the Coffee Club.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Allen and Debra of Emporia, Kan. and Michael and Linda of Chatham, Ill.; five grandchildren, Rachel, Amber, Ryan, Christopher, and Paul Clark; and a sister, Dorothy Mack of Hemet, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ronald and Leonard.

Pallbearers will be Ed LeFebvre, Joe Christensen, Don Theobald, Jim Kueny, Jim Westergaard and Mark Meyer.
