Marjorie E. Jacobs, 71, of Onawa, Iowa, died Thursday, January 6, 2000, at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa.

Marge was born January 17, 1928, at Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Lyda (Mills) Jacobs. She attended school in Mapleton and Onawa. She was a private home care provider and for 25 years she was a baby-sitter.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Onawa and a longtime member of Royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors include a sister and her husband, Lois and OD Douglas of Marysville, California; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters, Minnie, in infancy, Maude Johnson of Salina, Kansas, Helen Green of Gaylord, Minnesota, and Pearl Bonnes of Onawa.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2000, at the First Christian Church in Onawa, Iowa; with Pastor Donald R. Ludwick officiating.

The organist, Mrs. Vice Phillips, accompanied the congregation in singing the hymns "Rock of Ages" and "In The Garden".

Casket Bearers were Vernon Myers, Bill Hogancamp, Bob Hogancamp, Joe Harris, Steve Kennedy and Mike Kennedy. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Mapleton, Iowa, with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
