MAPLETON, Iowa — Doris Pauline Muckey, 74, of Mapleton died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, at Sunrise Retirement Home in Sioux City.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. Karen Handke officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.

Mrs. Muckey was born June 19, 1924, in Mondamin, Iowa, the daughter of William and Bertha (Jobe) Dryden. She was raised and educated in the Mondamin area.

She married Charles Muckey on March 5, 1956, in Blair, Neb. The couple resided in Mapleton. He died March 13, 1995. She entered Sunrise Retirement Home in 1996.

She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting.

Survivors include two daughters, Jan Muckey of Sioux City and Patti and her husband, Byron Schrunk, of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren, Ryon, Samantha, Candice, Cami and Belinda Schrunk; and a sister, Blendina Rounds of Woodbine, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
