William Clark Maxwell was born April 22, 1895 in Monona County, Iowa and passed from this life on Thursday, Dec. 6, 1956 at Blencoe, Iowa. Death came at the age of 61 years, 7 months and 15 days.

Bill had been employed by the Blencoe Elevator for the past 14 years. He had been a resident of Blencoe for 58 years.

On April 18, 1917 he was united in marriage with Eva Nickaloisen at Onawa. She preceded him in death August 7, 1947. On August 15, 1950 he was united in marriage with Hazel Tokheim at Onawa.

Survivors are his wife Hazel of Blencoe, one son; Everett Maxwell of Sterling, Colorado, two step-daughters, Mrs. Ed Rathenbuhler of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Mrs. Herbert Wilson of Minneapolis, Minn., two brothers, Dale and
Ray, both of Blencoe. There are 10 grandchildren, along with a number of other relatives and a host of other relatives and a host of friends. One sister, Faye preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, December 8th at 3 p.m. at the Congregational Church in Blencoe, with Rev. Everett Epperson conducting the services. Mrs. Illa Cartmill and Mrs. Lois Rock sang "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied, at the organ by Mrs. Annette Carlson.

Bearers were Albert Adams, Carl Heinman, Clarence Nikolaison, John Butcher, Dick Cartmill and Dall Mobley. Interment was in the Onawa cemetery with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home.
