ONAWA, Iowa — Opal Moss Bennett, 90, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pearson Funeral Chapel in Onawa, with Pastor Donald R. Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in the Jordon Cemetery in Soldier, Iowa. There will be no Visitation. Arrangements are being made by Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa.

Mrs. Bennett was born Aug. 30, 1906, in Castana, Iowa, the daughter of Pete and Chrisie (Weaver) Moss. She graduated from Castana High School in 1923.

She owned and operated Bennett Nursing Home in Turin and later Moss Nursing Home in Onawa.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Sally and Don Capotasto of West Bend, Iowa, and Ruth Opal and Edwin McIntosh of Bellevue, Neb.; two sons, Max and his wife, Theresa, Nickolaisen of Onawa, and Edwin "Butch" Bennett of Highland, Ill.; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Alvin.
